In physics, the fourth dimension is commonly identified with time , which, together with the three dimensions of space (length, width, height), forms a four-dimensional continuum called spacetime . This concept, central to Einstein’s theory of relativity , shows that time is not separate from space but is deeply interconnected with it. To fully describe an event in the universe, you need four coordinates : three for spatial location and one for the moment in time when it occurs.
